Through the term, gymnasts will get to try out a range of different apparatus from multiple gymnastics disciplines, delivered by our fully qualified coaches. They will work on basics skills in gymnastics and have the opportunity to show their creativity by building routines throughout the weeks, and can earn certificates by completing our in-house criteria.

Join The Dance Exclusive for street dance club. You will learn all the latest moves to current songs including commercial, break dancing and tutting. 

This is no pressure, high energy class is perfect for improving confidence, musicality, coordination and exercise. Performance opportunities available too.

The children will have the opportunity to develop their singing skills with Mrs Minshull - our Stave House Music teacher. Joining the school choir is a great way to pick up lots of tips and tricks to make the most of your voice. As well as learning how to sing as part of an ensemble, we will also be having a lot of fun! Learn how to warm up your voice, improve your posture and sing in harmony. At the end of the Spring term the choir will be performing at the Tendring Vocal Festival.

Our Chess Club is a fun and engaging way for children to learn, play and develop their skills together! Children enjoy learning the rules of chess, exploring new strategies and putting their skills into practice through friendly games and challenges. Playing alongside children of different ages and abilities, they develop problem-solving skills, patience, concentration and good sportsmanship. Along the way, they build confidence, resilience and friendships — all while having fun at the chessboard!

KS1 Reading Club

Our KS1 Reading Club offers children a fun, relaxed and encouraging environment in which to discover the joy of reading. Through a variety of exciting stories, shared reading activities and book-themed games, children will develop their confidence, fluency and understanding while exploring new characters, authors and adventures.

Sessions are designed to inspire children of all reading abilities, encouraging them to talk about stories, share their ideas and develop their imagination. Along the way, children will build vocabulary, comprehension and communication skills, while growing in confidence and developing a lifelong love of books and reading.

iRock Band Lessons

iRock lessons give children an exciting chance to be part of their own rock and pop band right here at school! Each week, professional band coaches lead fun 30-minute sessions during the school day where children choose an instrument (like guitar, drums, keyboard or vocals) and rehearse songs together as a band — no experience needed and all instruments are provided. iRock helps children build confidence, teamwork and musical skills.

Colchester United’s KS1 Tag Rugby Club offers boys and girls a fun, active and supportive environment in which to learn new skills and enjoy being part of a team. Led by Colchester United Community Foundation’s experienced coaches, sessions are designed to engage and challenge children of all abilities through exciting games and activities.

Children will develop key tag rugby skills, including: running, passing, catching, movement and teamwork, while also building confidence, coordination and communication. With an emphasis on participation, enjoyment and good sportsmanship, the club is a fantastic way for children to stay active, make friends and develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.
